This open mic has been a nurturing ground for much of the growth of the buffalo comedy scene for the last almost-two years, and we are excited to now offer yet another opportunity for the funny, bright people of our city to develop their art even further.
For this third installment of droll: an evening of comedic entertainment, we’ve asked four comedians to perform a story, sketch, or character monologue around the theme, alliance! With a decidedly nerdy slant, we’ve asked our performers to wax comedic on this theme and to even perhaps get costumed up and really dive into character!

The chassis number is usually found stamped on an aluminium plate which also gives a basic description of the vehicle. So if the chassis number doesn't correspond to the vehicle you are looking at, alarm bells should start to ring. From the end of 1979 Land Rover went over to the modern 17 digit VIN numbers - these are slightly harder to decode, but still no problem with the list below. Prior to this, 9 digit numbers, or 8 digits plus a suffix letter, were used.

Views from my camera, an exhibit of black and white as well as color photographs by milt ehrenberg, will take place at the bunis family art gallery in the jewish community center, may 1 – june 30, 2016. “i started taking photographs when i was 13 years old. The first photo i ever shot was of my father, with a spartus full vue camera that i received for my bar mitzvah,” recalls ehrenberg, of his almost 70-year love affair with the camera.
Ehrenberg’s professional career as a photographer began when he joined the us marine corp reserves in 1952. “this was how i honed my skills, working with some of the finest photographers in buffalo during the 50s,” says ehrenberg. Ehrenberg and his wife grace opened their own photo studio in 1963. “the photo world was pretty much black and white and at that time, grace was one of the finest photo colorists in the area. When color film arrived on our doorstep, the whole profession changed,” recalls ehrenberg. “we were in awe of this new technique. We went to every convention and school we could, run by the professional photographers association of new york and america, to learn what we could.
Success grew with the times.” the exhibit is dedicated to bernice and fred marschall, a photographic team who ehrenberg credits with teaching him the value of titling photos to tell the story of an image; ehrenberg’s photography instructor at buffalo technical high school, al gentsch; and to his wife grace, “a wonderful, loving, award-winning photographer who stood by me all these years, through the learning, and discovery process.” the exhibit, which is sponsored by irv schreiber, ullysses john and melinda kontos and shelly newman, includes an opening reception thursday, may 5, 7 – 9 pm. In the bunis family gallery, 2nd floor of the jcc at 2640 north forest road. Guests are invited to view the exhibit and meet the artist. Gallery admission is free and the gallery is open during jcc oper. Niagara 9:00 AM re-enactors specializing in the war of 1812 will be at old fort niagara this weekend to embody life at the fort as it was back then. The 23rd u.s. Regiment, from the rochester area, comprises about a dozen re-enactors who plan to offer musket firings, cooking demonstrations and period games for all ages, this saturday and sunday, november 14 and 15.
